A very sweet read! I love that the author used To Kill A Mockingbird to guide Lacy in her decision to do the right thing. Bullying is hard topic to tackle, and Abbott did so eloquently. Thank you for a great book to keep on hand when my kids get a little older!  Amanda

“Sorry, Bestie” is an exceptional book and I highly recommend it! The book appealed to all five of my senses and was a well-written and captivating read throughout. The story is a true who-done-it as told through the heart by the book’s central character, Lacy. The setting is Autumn in the Northeast part of the United States. The book takes you through the pressures of high school social dynamics, including the dynamics of fitting in and the peer pressures associated with subtle and not-so-subtle bullying. The book documents the challenges that Lacy (and her newfound friend who moved from the South) faced by the book’s four bully antagonists. The book is a positive chronology of the sound values associated with honesty and loyalty in friendship and the rewards in doing the right thing when standing up to bullying. I was inspired by the book and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!                             Well done, Felicity T. Abbott – a great story! Glad to give this 5 stars on Amazon. -Kevin

My story

I am a veteran Christian teacher who enjoys working with pre-teens and teenagers. I often mentor students as they deal with life's experiences and help students gain a Christian perspective on life and everyday difficulties. I decided to write about bullying from a girl's point of view because girl bullying often goes unnoticed since it is most times non-violent but still very hurtful. My hope is that Lacy's story will be a help to all girls: those being bullied and the girls who bully others. For the girls being bullied: have courage and know that there is help available. Hopefully the bullies will now realize how hurtful their words and actions can be upon reading Lacy's story and this will inspire them to change and grow spiritually also.
